Ghost stories thrive in Thailand, but none is more legendary than the tale of 'Mae Nak'. In the 19th century, Mae Nak passed away during childbirth while her husband, Mak, was away on military duty. Deeply attached to her beloved, her spirit remained in human form once he returned. Today, the temple stands complete with a dedicated shrine to Mae Nak, where locals flock to make merit and pray for good luck.
